The Lab space of FLA, the museum's area-factory dedicated to emerging artists, presents during Milan MuseoCity (March 1-5) Laura Rota, a Milanese artist who creates abstract and geometric paintings with captivating colors, a kind of ultra-contemporary stylized mandalas, where nothing is left to chance, from the in-depth study of chromatic harmonies to layers of acrylic colors and pigments, all rigorously hand-painted, without the use of masking.
Years of successful work as a graphic designer have shaped in her the sense of compositional balance and color, transforming them into a creative need that the artist explores through painting in the series "Rotations of Circles."
The works capture and concentrate the viewer's gaze within the painting, an almost hypnotic invitation to "enter" the work, to estrange oneself from everyday life to welcome beauty, harmony, and positive emotions.
In homage to the theme of the year "Worlds in Milan" of MuseoCity, Laura Rota presents a large canvas with the 8 original colors of the Freedom Flag. A gesture of hope, a wish that all forms of discrimination and war may cease, for a more welcoming and harmonious future. The painting intervention will take place live during the days of MuseoCity, with a grand finale on Sunday, March 3, when the work will be completed.
The other exhibited canvases pay tribute to the work of Flavio Lucchini and his fashion art in shades of gold-bronze and white-ivory.
Live painting on March 1, 2, 3, from 2 pm to 7 pm. The exhibition continues until March 31 (museum hours, in the Contacts section).
