Lucchini himself tells the reason for his Totems: "For years I tried to synthesize the female dress in an object-idol, making a real urban totem that celebrated this myth of our time. The totems tell the whole emotion of the dress. I made so many, in small dimensions, but also considering them as maquettes to develop big. I made them in corten steel,  but  also in plaster, cast iron, chromed or silver plated steel, bronze, wood. With geometric or sinuous shapes. They are conceptual, essential, preponderant sculptures. Thought of urban spaces, for large public halls, to bring art into the city, to excite with the strength of macro-dimension and material".
