A small solo exhibition by Flavio Lucchini opens in Milan, 19 artworks that leave their usual home, the FLA Museum, to land in an unconventional but highly sensitive venue, Studio Lombard, an accounting firm that in recent years has become increasingly committed to the issues of circular economy, sustainability, benefit societies and social and cultural enterprises.
For the exhibition “The Art of Fashion,” works were selected from among Lucchini's most representative Fashion Art. The early 1990s Paintings, where the dress is represented by stylized details and silhouettes. The Dress Totems, totemic dress sculptures that resemble primitive idols in corten or steel covered with gold leaf. The Dress Memories, white bas-reliefs in plaster or resin, depicting the most sophisticated workings of fabric, tributes to the great masters of fashion. In Dress Toys, on the other hand, the dress becomes a toy with a futuristic flavor, an expression of a pop taste of someone who was able to interpret the evolution of society and anticipate trends.
Also presented during the exhibition opening is AES #16 Arts+Economics, a magazine on culture and economics, published by Lombard DCA Studio and distributed free of charge. The new issue explores fashion archives and foundations: among the protagonists, in addition to Flavio Lucchini, are the Sorelle Fontana Foundation and the Missoni Archives.
