Collective contemporary textile art exhibition, Basilica di S. Francesco, Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como, 24 September - 20 November 2011.
Miniartextile Arte&Arte project curated by Luciano Caramel is the most important international fiber contemporary art exhibition in the world. This year representative fiber art artist Flavio Lucchini is placed next to international artists such as Joseph Beuys, Marina Abramovic, Chiharu Shiota, Alexandr Bordsky, Pino Pascali, David Herbert and many more. From the 24th of September to the 20th of November in the unconventional place of the deconsecrated Basilica of S. Francesco and in Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como, there will be displayed not just textile works but also dreamt, imagined, suggested, covered with lights materials.
“Flavio Lucchini protagonist in Italy as fashion magazines graphic and editor during the second half of the last century brings at Miniartextil his hubercoloured resin Dolls painted with acrylic colours[..] Witnesses as other Lucchini plastic works (from Fashion- lunapark to Dress- Toys and Ghost, and also with Dolls, Marshmallows, Faces and just from today, Burqa) of the evolving of the taste in the fashion history that Lucchini records with consciousness and irony.... In a practice of sculpture, practiced since the past nineties with commitment and remarkable results, which deserves to be better known and is of significant interest for these Como textile art exhibitions, opening the field of relations between art and fashion, in their reciprocal giving and to have, in the historical perspective and in the reality of the present, which is still to be cleared [...]"
