In the Atelier space of the FLA Museum, on the occasion of MuseoCity 2026, the temporary exhibition “White & White” opens. A constant in Lucchini’s works, almost an obsession, is the use of white, present in many paintings, drawings, sculptures, bas-reliefs, and declined in infinite shades according to the materials experimented with by the artist: fiberglass, reinforced plaster, layered acrylic paint, painted steel, oven-cured catalyzed varnish…The exhibition is a candid journey through Lucchini’s most iconic fashion-art works. The Dress Memory bas-reliefs, in resin or plaster, are almost a sort of archaeology of the garment that emerges from matter in a whirl of drapery, flounces, textures, scrolls and geometric forms. The Totem sculptures evoke unforgettable dresses, made even more memorable by absolute white. In the Paintings, acrylic colour stratifies over textile fibres, creating unexpected tactile surfaces. The Dolls are playful, ironic, pop sculptures, girls of our times, made of fiberglass that resembles crumpled paper. The Flowers, large imaginary blossoms that never fade, in white transcend colour and become ethereal. The Faces reveal traces of womanhood in unfinished faces, where colour becomes a superfluous detail, a reflection on the prevailing cosmetic surgery. White thus becomes a page to be filled with emotions, a lesson in purity, a base for every nuance suggested by the mind, a synthesis of life choices that are always anticipatory and creative, where fashion is always the protagonist of the cultural and social changes of our era.
