As Alexander Liberman -the mythical art director of Vogue America- often said, Lucchini experienced fashion shows as moments of great performance like in a big “cirque”. The magic on the runways goes on enchanting Lucchini like what happens in a circus to a child charmed by lights and colours, fairytale characters and rocking horses of the rides of the past. “Fashion goes on fascinating me like a fun fair with its flashy and naïve vulgarities, with its incredible and absurd creations”. An ironical, exasperate, excessive aspect of fashion (especially in the 80s-90s) where women turned into caryatids, symbols of a circus tend where exciting pagan rites were celebrated through pop-star-supermodels.
